Saving The Dolphins

Having several friends in common, Tarah & I met through Facebook a few months ago. A passionate animal lover who embraces a low-fat raw vegan lifestyle, Tarah is a dedicated & inspiring person to know. This past Saturday, she hosted a Vegan Bake Sale outside of Courtenay, BC's Zen Zero in order to raise money for her trip to Taiji to save the dolphins that are being slaughtered. She leaves in less than 3 weeks, & has been working hard to raise awareness on this important issue.
Tarah baked a lot of the treats herself, but many generous people helped by donating vegan/raw/gluten-free goodies to the event. Tarah even prepared my Double Chocolate Caramel Muffins!

Look at all of the delicious yummies available! Everything was sold out in just a few short hours; the bake sale was a huge success! Afterwards, there was a screening of The Cove at Zen Zero.

These were the goodies that I took home! Chocolate ganache cake, low-fat raw apple pie, carrot muffin, chocolate chip walnut cookie, chocolate muffin w/ vegan whipped cream, raw cinammon bun with glaze & a raw gingerbread man. (The gingerbread men were donated by Raw Rose!)

If you want to follow Tarah's journey to Taiji, offer her words of support and/or donation, you can visit her blog, Memoirs of a Cove Guardian. Oh, & btw...yesterday was her birthday, so wish her a happy one! :)

peace, love & life for all <3
